How to Calculate Weeks Between Dates

1. Calculate the number of days between two dates (use a days calculator if needed).
2. Divide the number of days by 7 and round down to get the number of full weeks.
3. Calculate the remainder after dividing by 7 to get the remaining days.

Example

Problem: How many weeks are in the school year between September 1, 2021 and May 31, 2022?

Solution:

• Number of days = 272
• Full weeks = 272 ÷ 7 = 38 (rounded down)
• Remaining days = 272 - (38 × 7) = 6

Answer: 38 weeks and 6 days
